Koppa ( Kannada: ಕೊಪ್ಪ) is a panchayat town in Chikkamagaluru district in the Indian state of Karnataka. The town is famously known as kashmir of Karnataka and also renowned for its famous arecanut, coffee and tea estates. A number of tea processing centres – in Bappunji (Devon Plantation and Industries Ltd), Karkikonda, Koradihitlu, Alageshwara, Balanur have made this area famous for tea. As of 2001 Koppa had a population of 19000.
