Ambasamudram is a taluk in Tirunelveli district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. The entire taluk had a population of 392,226 as of 2001. This picturesque town is situated in the foothills of western ghats on the northern bank of Tamirabarani (Tamiram = copper, it contains traces of copper) river with a twin town Kallidaikurichi/Kallidai is situated on the southern bank.

The Manjolai area comprises Tea Plantations with settlements around the tea plantations.
